Erectile Dysfunction
An occasional episode of erectile dysfunction is normal and happens to most men at some point in their lives. As men age, changes can occur in erectile function. Many of these changes are normal. Erections may take longer to develop, may not be as rigid or may require more direct stimulation to be achieved. Orgasms can be less intense, the volume of ejaculate reduced and recovery time between erections can increase.
But when erectile dysfunction proves to be a pattern or a persistent problem, it can interfere with a man's self-image, as well as his and his partner's sexual life. Erectile dysfunction can also be a sign of a physical or emotional problem that requires treatment.
Once a taboo subject, erectile dysfunction is no longer, as more men have begun to seek help. Doctors now have a better understanding of the causes of erectile dysfunction and have discovered new treatment alternatives.
